The New Albany Classic Invitational Grand Prix

First some pictures I took of P on Saturday. I sold his old stable sheet since he had reached fat kid in a little coat status and someone got a new horse of appropriate size at the barn. Spoiled P got a Rambo Helix Stable Sheet. Loving the front closure on it (two snaps go on a ring), and well P looks handsome.

I gave Stampede a quick hack on Saturday then rushed home to prepare for my trip. Christie and I left around 2:30 to head to Columbus, Ohio. We stopped at Equus Now on our way to my friend’s house, where I purchased a head bumper for Stampede to wear on future trailer rides and a Talent Yarn shirt (finally!). Now I will be one of those fancy people in the vented shirt and snap collar.

After our tack shop stop we headed to my friend’s house where we stayed the night. In the morning we all got moving slowly then went out to breakfast before Christie and I headed off the New Albany Classic Invitational Grand Prix.

The day is actually a grand prix and a family day. There are kids rides, other activities including pig races, a “tween” concert (Emblem3 and Ariana Grande this year), and the grand prix. The whole purpose of the day is to benefit The Center for Family Healing and Safety. Abigail Wexner, who most of us know as a big name in horses (owns some Beezie Madden horses), also owns the property the event is held on and is involved with the charity. While I’m not a big fan of kids, particularly in that kind of setting where parents don’t keep control of them, I love watching horses jump over huge jumps, so I deal, lol. All of these pictures are from my iphone, which I am pretty amazed about!

Lots of big names. Kent Farrington and Blue Angel won the big money and a 2 year lease on a Mercedes. He was insanely fast down the last line of the jump off! It was a great day and totally worth the $20 ticket. I have gone to this event several times and it is always improving.

Got back too late to see the ponies last night, but Christie’s mom had ridden P for me and Gary had gone out to graze Stampede and give him his nightly grain snack. Spoiled ponies!

Why would anyone want their post password protected? Lol. I did the post through the updated iphone app and hit the eyeball icon to see what it did. It appeared to do nothing but evidently I was wrong! Should be all fixed. You can now see the handsome pony!
