Big Foot

I suppose since it has been over a year since Stampede gave me a black eye it was time for a new injury. A week ago yesterday I was grazing the large beast during a horse show at the barn. I was fairly relaxed and talking to a friend until a large butt swung towards me and a left hind hoof landed on my right foot. Honestly when it happened I didn’t think it hurt that bad or that it would be anything. That lasted until I got home a couple of hours later and took off my riding boot. Oops!

The brightest area is at my toes but the beast actually stepped on me higher up on my foot where the bruise appears later on. I took one day off then rode without stirrups/bareback for a few days before going back to stirrups. Oddly enough the foot bothers me least while riding and more while walking.

Here’s hoping things keep improving and I don’t have to get it looked at.
