Rolex Part II – The shopping

Personally, I hate shopping in general, unless it applies to horse things. In that case, I can shop all day! Luckily Hillary from Equestrian at Hart is similarly into this type of shopping and we spent quite a bit of time wandering around the various booths. Here is a run down of my weekend of purchases.

First stop, Oglivy booth. My pads I picked up at Rolex. The blue one on the left matches the cooler I got earlier this year.

I also ordered a second half pad with only 1″ foam so that the front raisers for P will work better. They are a little too much with the thicker pad I have currently. Not to mention it was getting old putting the raisers in and taking them back out so I could use the pad on both horses. Pictures of that when it arrives!

Second stop, La Mundial booth. It is time for my first and only pair of tall boots to go and nothing off the rack fits me so this was a great option!

It is time for my first and only pair of tall boots to retire. I can still wrestle them on but I’m tired of having to keep my husband at shows in order to get them off! How many people at 30 years old can say they’ve had the same pair of tall boots since before they could drive?

Picked up a piece of Rolex branded swag of course!

Socks!

Socks!

I have a thing for Argyle and the Horze socks were $5 each! Decided to take a gamble on the Noble Equine Xtreme Soft Boot Sock since I’ve heard good things and they actually believe in my size foot in that model. I might be getting a sock problem?

Gloves

Gloves

I’ve been trying to decide what to do about gloves since the Roeckl’s don’t last long for me. I had bought some ugly and cheap crochet back gloves at my local tack shop to use that I’m not a fan of. These Ariat Heritage gloves fit me well so we will see how they hold up to my use!

Decided to try to Antares conditioner.

I know L at Viva Carlos likes this conditioner and I haven’t found a favorite so I decided to give it a try. As a bonus I got a free hat which will be headed to L.

Thinline bareback pad

Unexpected purchase there, but I got 30% off and I do ride bareback frequently. I have a coolback bareback pad currently which is anything but cool on a horse’s back and this looks like it will be extra comfortable!

So now I’m poor and awaiting the arrival of my most expensive purchases in the next few months!

Why is horse shopping so much better than people shopping?

When your horse needs a bigger size it’s not a bad thing?

Woot woot, I’m actually going to write a review of that conditioner in May. So glad they changed the packaging. And I’ve owned the same pair of tall boots forever and I’m not 30, finally getting rid of them (they are beyond dead).
