Not enough pony time

Sunday I rode Stampede and my friend Jessica rode Mr. P. It was really beautiful out, although not super warm, and the boys were both happy to be riding outside.

Sunday I got home and the husband and I took the smaller furkids out to play fetch.

Monday night I rode Mr. P outside as it was getting dark. Just a nice quick flat and he was a good boy of course! Tuesday I ended up working too late so Christie rode P for me on Wednesday so I could get on Stampede. Stampede was a bit fruity (his new name was fruit bat – fruit cake + ding bat), but it was his first night ride outside, and it was kind of breezy and overcast to begin with so I can’t fault him too much. No riding Thursday (boo!).

Friday night I still worked late then ran out to the barn to lunge Stampede before close. He was pretty distracted, but there is a horse show at the barn this weekend so everything was not as it normally is, plus I’ve gotten him off of his schedule which doesn’t help. Instead of doing trot and canter each way, we trotted both ways before cantering to try to get his head in the game. He did eventually settle in and pay attention, but it still wasn’t our best lunge night ever. Christie had ridden Mr. P earlier, so I just gave him lots of cookies and kisses.

Today I worked allllll day again, it’s been a long week.

Yep, 73.25 hours in this week...

After work the hubs and I stopped and got dinner before heading out to see the boys. The husband picked his favorite pony (poor Mr. Stamp just can’t win!) and we took the boys out for some grass.

Stampy stopped staring at trailers to eat some grass.

I’ll go work again tomorrow, although probably not a really full day, then go ride Stampede with Jessica and P like last week. Hopefully Stampede will give a repeat performance of last week’s Sunday ride!

Pretty much sums things up!

And I like the other one better, lol. This is the “pony ring”, we have a bigger “west ring”.

I am loving all that sun! And I can’t believe you have an even bigger arena than that. So jealous.
