The more time that goes by since the horse show the happier I am with how Stampede was. His biggest issue is that he is never the same horse at shows that he is on a normal day and that bothers me. He begins his day by being quick and usually ends it with some level of anger. The anger was minimal this time, I would assume because his back isn’t bothering him like it was before we got the kissing spine diagnosis and did the injections. That said, he did kick out and try to go sideways at the beginning of my medal test which was disappointing Even more annoying is that he was done after the two jumps in the test.
Anyways, my placings:
5th – Limit Adult Equitation over Fences
5th – Novice Adult Equitation over Fences
4th – Limit Adult Medal
2nd – Low Adult Medal
I did P in my Novice Adult Equitation flat class and we didn’t place. I had a lot of fun even if I just don’t look as good on him.
On to the pictures! My husband did a great job helping me with the boys and taking some great pictures. Love him!
Next are a few artistic shots of Mikey, my friend Christie’s horse.
The next show at the barn is finals in August. Maybe if I get lucky I can go to an away show this year yet. Definitely something I’m considering since we missed out on so many shows this year.
Anyways, the boys have been lazy since the show. They both had Sunday off to chill (all my classes were Saturday). Yesterday I just did a really easy bareback ride on Phoenix, it was nice although hot. Today I lunged Stampy walk and trot in the Pessoa knock off. He was moving really nicely when he wasn’t worrying about the horse at the barn next door calling to him. I don’t really have it tightened up much, so there is plenty room for him to get used to it and improve.
This is what Stampede was doing when I came back from the tack room today.
Hope everyone is having a good week.
