So last night I got on Stampede for the first time since his injections. He didn’t get angry when I curried him, but then he did when I brushed his right side and when I put the saddle on. He was happy when I got on as usual, and walked around calmly. He started out stiff at the trot, but then felt fairly normal other than the occasional bobble in the back-end. Technically, according to all the vets Stampede is not clinically “lame”, which just seems like an odd comment, because he certainly doesn’t feel that great yet. Anyways, I will remain optimistic since yesterday it wasn’t even supposed to be working yet and he did feel partially better. We will see what tomorrow brings.
I didn’t have much time tonight after work but I did get on Phoenix bareback for a quick ride. He was very lazy, I think he was just as bummed to be riding indoors again as I was. Anyways, other than a disagreement about bending properly to the right, we had our usual relaxing ride. P just makes life so easy.
Speaking of P, he turns 24 in less than 2 weeks. I think I may need to get him a birthday hat and make him some treats. He deserves to be spoiled!
And just for fun, here are some of my favorite old pictures of the boys!
Getting back on Stampy tomorrow. Fingers crossed!
Happy birthday Phoenix! 24 is certainly something to celebrate
I hope the injections help Stampy!
Hope Stampy feels better soon! LOVE the heart on his forehead!
Love the only pictures! 🙂
Glad he felt atleast partially better. Can’t believe P is 24!!! He looks awesome. I hope Huer looks that good at his age!
