First things first, I had a contest right before the ponies came home asking for votes and suggestions on a barn name. Ultimately, I decided to go with Morstone Acres. The words mean a lot to me and speak to the journey to renovate the property as well. As far as the winner…there were only 4 people who said they liked Morstone generically or Morstone Acres specifically. I did not include people who wanted another variation of the name, sorry guys!
Congrats Renate, I will send you an email. As for what she wins…
Otherwise the boys have settled in really well. Stampede in particular is a new man, but I’ll go into that further in another post. Now for more pictures!
Seriously why do they think the water trough tastes so much better than the water in buckets in their stalls? This was literally 1 minute after I let them out. Weirdos!
Congrats Renate! And my horses are the same way about their water trough — they won’t touch the water in their stalls and then drain the outdoor trough when I turn them out…. all comes from the same spigot you goons…. haha.
It’s just so ridiculous that they run out to the trough every morning like they are so thirsty. Maybe I should start dumping their buckets into the trough, lol. Keep having to dump them because they get dust on the top of the water from lack of use!
We have a horse at my barn that does the same thing with the water. He won’t drink all night, and as soon as he goes out in the morning he sucks down gallons. Same water, and your bucket gets cleaned just as often, dummy!
I will say Stampede does drink in his stall and go to the trough. P however barely touches his stall water, it must be only for thirst emergencies? Silly ponies!

🙂
Aw so glad to see them settling so well!
Thanks, me too! It’s crazy how much difference a change in lifestyle can make, excited to talk about that further soon!
